What a GORGEOUS day Michelle and Sean's wedding was! Michelle just graduated from Notre Dame and getting married at the basilica was a dream of hers. Well.. last Saturday her dreams came true! Their closest family and friends were present for a beautiful ceremony and Amish Acres reception. Every detail was elegant and perfect. Every bride is in love with their wedding dress but Michelle's excitement for the perfect dress was so fun to capture! Michelle's excitement for putting on her dress quickly moved to excitement to seeing her groom! It also allowed them to have a moment of prayer before a very busy day! Groom Sean walked his new mother in law down the isle as she held back tears of joy. Michelle cried through her vows and it was the sweetest. Their reception brunch was at Amish Acres in Nappanee. It was such a beautiful celebration! A bride loosing it while dancing with her daddy? Gets me EVERY time! I cried right along with her! Their guests could DANCE! I think it's safe to say that Michelle and Sean had the wedding of their dreams. And witnessing their love for one another I think they'll have the marriage of their dreams too!
Thanks for asking me to be apart of your day! I know I say this a lot but I look forward to sooo many of my family sessions! The Carter family is one of them! They are so down to earth and so incredibly sweet. Just a wonderful family to know and I am honored that they want me to take their pictures every year. And yes.. when a little boy gets out of the car and has a bow tie on I do a little dance. LOVE A YOUNGSTER IN A BOWTIE!!!! And dad Jon just got his MBA from Liberty and it called for a little set-up of it's own at our session!
I was SO looking forward to Laura and Scott's day! We met last fall to meet up for their engagement session and their love for each other was SO evident! They were completely giggly and laughed the entire session. I KNEW their wedding was going to be filled with joy! And they were crazy happy through the weather circumstances.. when you get married in mid-May in Indiana you hope and cross your fingers that it won't be 46 degrees and windy. But even through the 46 degrees and wind they were troopers and you can't tell at all through the images that it was bitter cold! Their wedding was at one of my favorite local spots, Coppes Commons in Nappanee. They had a very intimate, small wedding ceremony and then their families and friends joined them for a bigger reception. It was a joyous day and I loved capturing the best day of their lives. And meet Sam.. Scott's 6 year old son. He was a HOOT all day and was so excited that daddy was getting married. =) The lighting at Coppes Commons never disappoints.. Laura was glowing! Sam did a wonderful job of making sure his dad walked down the isle correctly and stood in the right spot. =) Sam found me and my hiding spot during the ceremony! Produced this adorable shot so it's all good! I've said it before and I'll say it again.. following the couple down the isle and getting their reaction right after their ceremony is always one of my favorite things about a wedding. Such true, genuine emotion. Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs.! First dances over rose petals.. so romantic and perfect! As the saying goes, "a family that dances together stays together" Right? Ok maybe not but they cut a rug super well together! I had to laugh because every time I found Sam he was putting down some serious Coke. He did switch to diet about mid-evening.. less sugar but just as much caffeine! He may still have not slept but man he sure had fun! It was an amazing day and I wish you love and happiness in your marriage!
When you walk up to your engagement session and see the prettiest red hair, you get a bit excited for the session to come. =) Lyndon and Jody are getting married in July and I'm SO happy we shot their engagement session at their new home. They are hunters and it was fun to incorporate that love into their e-session. Enjoy scrolling through their adorable engagement session! And can't wait until July, guys! This was the first time I asked clients to point a gun and bow at me. =) And I'm pretty sure I won Lyndon over and he's one of my best friends now because I asked him to point a bow at me. Cuz any photographer that tells ya to point a weapon at you is a photographer worth having, in my opinion. =) Their apple trees were blooming in their back yard and it made a perfect romantic look for them! We'll see you in a few months, guys! So excited for your big day!
I don't know why I haven't done this before.. but when you have two daughters that are 2 years and 10 days apart, you have a birthday party double header in ONE day! We did my 7 year old's party from 1-3pm and my eldest daughter's 9 year old party from 3:30-5:30pm! I stuck with the same theme for both... Cupcakes and Canvases I had the privilege of using my professional artist step-mom, Susie, as the teacher. This was actually a very cost-effective party. I had a friend do the cupcakes, purchased all my table items and decorations at the Dollar Tree and used my 40% off coupon at Micheal's' to purchase the 8x10 canvases for $12 for 10 of them. And the ONLY place that (the right) washable paint is at is Target. My (handy) hubby used scrap wood out of his stash to make each girl their very own easel. They took the easel and canvas home as the party favor. It was an exhausting day but I'll be doing the birthday party double header again in the future! I usually keep snacks simple.. Here's a pic of the easels my hubby whipped up. The girls were in awe that they got to take them home! My step-mom drew the butterflies on the canvases first.. that really helped with time. My hubby has ALWAYS done crazy things with his tongue when he's concentrating. My Joya got this gene from him! Here's a picture of the end result! Aren't they amazing artists!?!?!? Half an hour break in between the two parties to clean out brushes and sweep up the cupcake crumbs. Onto my 9 year old's party! Not quite sure why my Adie-girl picked a penguin.. but she did! And it was adorable! My eldest daughter is more quiet and laid back... most of the time she's more mature than I am. I LOVE it when I get a laughing picture of her like the one below. Just love it! Well that's an amazing penguin painted by a four year old, if you ask me! Joya and a buddy obviously thought it was appropriate to change into a leo and sombrero for the 2nd party. Didn't they do amazing with their paintings? And here's a self-portrait of what I'm always doing at the girls' parties! Documenting all the fun! Thanks for visiting, guys!
