meet carl and lisa.. my april wedding couple! so fun to finally meet them. =) as you can see, they are a gorgeous couple and so hilarious to be around. carl cracks jokes all the time and lisa pretty much laughs and smiles all the time! they both grew up on farms and now Carl farms his family farm. their e-session wouldn't have been complete anywhere else but on his farm and their soon to be home. fields and grain bins and hay lofts and tractors were all apart of their gallery. I knew these images would be totally "them" and lisa confirmed it in the email after she saw their gallery. let's just say she kinda liked them. I could see her laugh and smiling through the email she wrote me! Love having happy brides! lisa said they sucked at "serious" images.. from the looks of that right picture.. I THINK NOT! another laughing picture of lisa. perfect. =) they wanted a few pics on the back of their truck. they said one of their first dates was spent sitting on the back of the truck talking for hours. love that we could incorporate one of their early dating memories into their e-pictures. shocker! another laughing picture of lisa. I just love her and her happiness! as I said earlier.. they both grew up on farms so what is more perfect then getting some images with their cow buddies. carl told me over and over that this tractor is his favorite. like total favorite. he repainted it himself.. yeah, it's his favorite. that's how many times he told me. =) fitting to do some detail shots of her ring on the bright orange engine. LOVE! and I'm thinking of sending Case tractors this image. I think it needs to be on their brochures, don't ya think? more proof that they knocked "being serious" out of the ballpark. =) more laughing pics of Lisa! and we ended the session with a silhouette in the hay loft.
something tells me this may end up in the living room on a big fat canvas.... This family. My word. They ARE as sweet as this session seems! It was COLD the day we shot and the kids were amazing sports.. mom, dad and I were crazy cold too. We had rescheduled a few times so we knew we had to get the session in on this day or it was never going to happen in 2014. After the family pics we put the kiddos in the warm mini-van and shot some great pictures of Dustin and Amber. All in all a WONDERFUL session.. SO glad we got it in before winter dumps a ton of snow on us! I think even though everyone was cold.. the kids enjoyed the dh photography games. =) I played some "games" with mom and dad too. =) shut up they are cute! thanks to Christmas coming up.. there were some Christmas lights up that created some gorgeous bokeh for the individual kiddo pics. such a fabulous session. LOVED my time with the Sahlhoff's!
met up with this extended family! I've done brooke and brandon's images for years and loved that they wanted another session this year with the extended family. =) I totally jinxed us though.. I say, "Weather man was TOTALLY wrong about rain today!" Minutest later it started raining. Of course. Moved our session into the woodpile barn and got plenty of images for their gallery! Thank you Jesus! every parent needs an image like the ones below.. just to remember that they really DO love each other! grown daughters and their parents.. it was time for an updated pic. =) there may or may not have been 4 adults dancing to "all that bass" behind me. =) LOVED the way the wood backdrop looked as Brynleigh and Brayla sat on a wood pile.. so they got shot by my big ol' camera. =) Brooke and Brandon had their individual family session back in September so we just grabbed a few pictures of them. LOVE THIS so I'm super glad we did!
What a sweet, joyful occasion Devon and Brenda's wedding was! Brenda emailed me a few months ago to check on availability and I just fell in love with their story. They both are widowers and Brenda was a best friend of Devon's late wife. The couple had actually known each other for YEARS. They both lost their spouses and one thing led to another and they fell in love. It's just the sweetest but as you can imagine, the day was filled with lots of emotion. Sadness of missing their first wife/husband but a new joy of the love they had found in each other. We started out snapping some formal images of the two of them.. loved coming up with poses that caught their giddiness.. their fun sides.. and their "ga-ga-ness" for each other. you know me.. laughing images are my FAVORITE images to have! and yes.. the coppes commons in Nappanee, Indiana is pretty much fabulous inside and out.. and the food was AMAZING! I am shooting two more weddings there in 2015. Can't wait! details of the day were so incredibly sweet and meaningful... Brenda's bouquet was wrapped with a piece from her grandmother's wedding dress. whether you are in your 20's or your 50's.. the first glance at your bride on your wedding day is one to be remembered. brenda is such a classy, beautiful lady! the attire she chose for herself for her big day were perfect! and Devon's granddaughter and flower girl was pretty excited to be getting a new grandma. =) Devon walked his own bride down the isle to their nuptials. and not only was there a lot of emotion with the bride and groom and their families but their friends were also emotional. Such a glorious celebration but the realization of what the bride and groom had lost to find each other was read on many of the guests' faces. The newly announced Mr. and Mrs. Miller. =) and then it was time to each and party.. loved catching some affection with the bride and groom. Can't have a wedding without cake! these are six out of eight of the "great eight" friends. devon's late wife was also apart of this group. such a fabulous day. wishing Devon and Brenda a WONDERFUL life together! I am so glad life doesn't have to be done alone anymore... you have each other now. =) Praise God for that!
